Imphal Airport

The Imphal airport is the main airport in Imphal. The airport is situated a height of about 2,542 ft above sea level,  and 8km to the south of the city of Imphal. It is the second international airport in the northeast, after Guwahati. The airport connects all the major cities and towns of the country. The airport provides, regional commercial airline service along with general aviation as well as charter services.

Terminal in Imphal Airport

Terminal 1- Domestic: Although Imphal airport has two terminals but only terminal one is active. Domestic flights on a regular basis take off from here. The two main airlines that runs from the airport are Indian Airlines and Jet Airways. The terminal  have 10 check-in counters. It has the capacity to handle about 1000 passengers in the arrival and departure sections.

Baggage Services:  The airport provides baggage services to its passengers. X-Ray baggage facility is also provided by the airport for better security purpose.

Places to Shop and Eat:  The airport also houses few shops from where one can buy traditional products, accessories, magazines at a very reasonable price. There are also few restaurants and cafes in the airport premises where one can get food and drink.

Duty Free Shopping: The duty Free facilities are also available in the airport. Although there limited services available but one can get a different types of things at a very reasonable price.
